Science & independence

Evidence first. No paid placement.

Our methods are designed to be reviewable — and honest about what we don't know.

How we assess things

How we assess evidence. We start from published, peer-reviewed studies. Each study is extracted, checked against its source and reviewed by a person before it can influence anything you see. Where evidence is weak, mixed or missing, we say so — "insufficient evidence" is a valid outcome, not a failure.

Why quality and suitability are separate. A well-made product can still be wrong for you. The Suppdate Score measures product quality — dose, form, label accuracy — and is the same for everyone. Your Fit is a separate, personal assessment based on your goals, your data and what you already take.

Safety comes first. Safety considerations can override an otherwise favourable score. If a product conflicts with a medication, a condition or a safe upper limit, that takes priority over everything else — including a high quality score.

Recommendations can change. Science moves, and so do you. As new evidence is published or your personal information changes, assessments are revisited and may change. An answer today is not a promise forever.

Commercial independence. No brand can pay for a better score. Price, affiliate commission and commercial relationships are never inputs to scores, evidence grades, safety decisions or recommendations. Any future commercial relationship will be disclosed, and will remain separated from the science.

Our working principles

Evidence review

Studies are extracted, source-verified and reviewed by people. AI never approves its own extraction.

Source provenance

Every scientific claim links to a reviewable evidence record with DOI or PMID where available.

Uncertainty

Where evidence is weak or missing, we say so. 'Insufficient' is a valid grade.

Product verification

An exact product is only marked verified with appropriate label evidence.

Commercial independence

Price and affiliate commission are never scoring inputs.

Provisional methods

Our grading framework is provisional and has not yet been independently validated. We will publish updates as it is reviewed.

Scientific advisers will be listed here once formally appointed.
